So I've played a game online before called "Diner Dash", which is an addicting java game. In the full version you start a hole-in-the-wall restaurant and use money you make to buy a jukebox, a latte machine, more tables, a faster cook, etc.

So I found a website that allows you to play for free or compete for cash. I've been playing for free, but then a chat window appeared with someone trying to sell me a membership - If I contributed $20, they'd give me $20 worth of credits. I immediately withdrew the $20 I put in, and still had the credits to play with. You can't withdraw credits, but you can use them toward games and if you win you'll get money that you can actually withdraw.

I've got $17 that I can withdraw just from playing several games after work today.

Did this just cease to become a waste of time, and become a money-making hobby?
