catan, carcassone, ticket to ride

Settlers of Catan, Carcassone, and Ticket to ride are great games. We get games as gifts because its a great way to spend time with family and friends.

These are our current 3 favorites, and they are all winners from different years of the German Best Game annual award.

Yes, Ticket To Ride, the game that is a map of the United States upon which you claim train routes was the German Game of the year. A map of the U.S.

I'm going to have so much to learn when I get home! And seriously -- who know the Germans were game wizards?!

I played Ticket to Ride with my friends in Detroit. It was a lot of fun.

I got Settlers for my bro! We played and he loved it! Another person lovin' Catan!

    Hope to see you soon!

Wow, I quite like this new blog design.

I've only played Settlers once, but enjoyed it quite a bit. I've heard of Ticket to Ride but haven't played it; it looks fun.

Have you played Fluxx? That's a fun one that I think would be up your alley, with it's changing rules. :) Speaking of which, what was that game that you played with us years ago with the silly rules? No, not the game we shall not speak it's name, the one where you explained the rules first. :)

@Gregor - you must mean Blind Cow? It was born of boredom in international airports on a TM trip. I wonder if I still have the rules written down somewhere.

    Wow, I fail.

I know the proper usage of its/it's; not sure why I messed it up twice in one comment.

Yes, pretty sure that's it. If you have them, shoot me an email with them, please. :)

@Jen - Yes, I think my gift list is now going to be filled with games that won that German game-of-the-year award in other years!

We're having game nights more often now, you'll have lots of fun to learn when you get back.

It's also a good thing for the dust guys to do when the girls are doing weird things like... talking... or reading books.

Hey Gregor... I'll let you know if I can find them. I'll facebook the co-creator and see if she remembers the rules.
